The Timberline Rim Community Wildfire Mitigation Project was a collaboration between Tim Rim Firewise Committee and HOA, AntFarm Youth Services, the Oregon Department of Forestry, Clackamas Fire, and Hoodland Fire, and Portland General Electric. The project was funded through grants from the Higher Education Coordinating Commission and the Oregon State Fire Marshal.

The goal of the project was to provide structure vulnerability assessments for as many homes as possible, and to assist residents with developing defensible space and hardening their homes against wildfire.

AntFarm Youth Services did the lion’s share of work in the community with over 100+ home assessments and 90 Home Ignition Zone (HIZ) treatments. They also felled 103 dead trees that had potential to fall in high winds and block evacuation routes.

This work helped the community achieve national Firewise recognition.
